Portland Area Comprehensive Transportation System (PACTS) Travel Demand Model Update
Implemented pathbreaking model that does both conventional Static Traffic Assignment (STA) and advanced Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA) using the same data. Other enhancements include:
- accessibility-based mode choice model
- truck model
- multiclass assignment including differentiation between cash toll and transponder payments
STA exaggerates future vehicle hours of delay (VHD) per trip without major roadway expansion. DTA is more accurate for both base and future conditions.
